Onward, 2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir

This Rosé of Pinot noir is loaded with a bounty of fresh strawberry, raspberries and citrus blossom and nicely balanced with savory complexity of dried hibiscus tea and refreshing minerality of wet stone. This wine has a full round mouthfeel and is balanced with vibrant acidity making it both a year round and food friendly rosé. She is serious on the inside, but she is openly loving with a contagious smile. Hawkeye Ranch is a family owned heritage vineyard site planted with Martini clone Pinot vines by the Johnson’s in early 1970’s and farmed organically and is Fish Friendly Certified.

To that end, Onward searched carefully to find vineyard sites that provide excellent fruit quality accompanied by earnestness on behalf of the grower. Onward Wines are single-vineyard, site-driven wines from vineyard sites. The winemaker's style is about letting the vines speak. They are the art, and she is the canvas, and her job is to give them a chance to share their beauty in each and every vintage. Her decisions are driven from the vineyard and the vintage, her cellar practices are to uphold the truths I find in the vineyard. To this end she picks early looking for balance of flavors at lower ripeness, as she finds this is when each vineyard is in its most unique expression of self.
