About the Box

Wags & Wine is the first and only monthly wine subscription box for both you and your dog. Our mission is to connect wine loving dog owners with smaller production wineries, and limited ingredient dog treats and goodies. It’s time to bring an at-home, one of a kind, experience to customers and their dogs!

Each month, the Wags & Wine subscription box will include 2 bottles of wine, 2 dog products (a combination of a treat, chew, bone, cookie, toy, or other). Be on the lookout for free extras and surprises, too!

At this time, we do not plan to have a winery or dog company more than once. However, there is a possibility of receiving a similar product, from a different brand, in a future box. wAGS & wINE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THIS IN THE FUTURE.

Although Wags & Wine does not manufacture any of the products found in your box, we do our very best to ensure that every single ingredient in the products we source has been researched and verified as safe for your dog. We put extra time and effort into making sure that they are not only safe, but that they also provide benefits such as adding essential vitamins and minerals, healthy fats and allergen free options. We also strive to provide a variety of different types of treats that we source with different textures from soft and chewy, to a crispy biscuit.

We stand behind the products in our box, and we would never send anything that we wouldn’t give our very own beloved pups. The toys we select for our boxes are all manufactured in the U.S. (sometimes Canada) and made with non-toxic quality materials.

Please note, we do always recommend supervised play as all dogs have unique play styles. If the structure of a toy is ever compromised please throw the item away to minimize risk of ingestion.

Managing Subscriptions

All monthly subscriptions will automatically renew every 1st of the month, as long as your billing information is valid and you haven’t skipped or canceled. You will receive a new box every month with no need to reorder.

**If no actions are taken, subscriptions auto-renew at the previous subscription frequency preferences**

If choosing a 3 month subscription commitment, the subscription will renew on the 1st of the month after 3 months of billing. For example, if your first billing is May 1st, your subscription will renew for another 3 month commitment on August 1st if no action is taken.

If choosing a 6 month subscription commitment, the subscription will renew on the 10th of the month after 6 months of billing. For example, if your first billing is May 1st, your subscription will renew for another 6 month commitment on November 1st if no action is taken.

If choosing a 12 month subscription commitment, the subscription will renew on the 10th of the month after 12 months of billing. For example, if your first billing is May 1st, your subscription will renew for another 12 month commitment the following May 1st if no action is taken.

Choosing a 3 month, 6 month or 12 month subscription saves between 6% and 15% per month.

If one of these subscriptions is chosen, you will be unable to Skip, Pause or Cancel, during the duration of the commitment.

If you are looking for your ‘Skip, ‘Pause’, or ‘Cancel’ or ‘Change Subscription’ buttons during your 3 month, 6 month or 12 month subscription, you will not see them. These buttons will be re-activated 1-2 days after the last renewal month of your chosen duration.

For example, if you sign up on April 30th for a 3 month subscription, you will be billed on May 1, June 1, and July 1. Your Skip, Pause and Cancel buttons will show up under your account on July 2nd. If no action is taken by July 31st, the buttons will be hidden again and your subscription will renew on August 1 for another 3 month commitment. 

You have a full month to decide what you would like to do with your subscription. Therefore, if no action is taken, no refunds will be honored.

**If no action is taken, your subscription will auto-renew based on prior subscription frequency preferences**

Our “renewal period” and our “subscribe period” are the same. You must renew your subscription, or place your new subscription order, before the 1st of each month, in order to receive that month’s box. The 1st of the month is when all subscriptions (new and renewal) are processed.
 
For example, in order to receive the May box, you have up until April 30th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time to place a new subscription order. All active renewals will be automatically processed on May 1st for the May box. Any new orders placed on May 1st at 12:00 AM Pacific Time or later will receive the June box as their first box.
 
Boxes will ship either the first or second Monday of each month.

Your subscription will automatically renew on the 1st of the month. If you wish to skip, pause or cancel, you must do so by the 11:59 PM PST one business day prior to the 1st. The 1st of the month is when all subscriptions (new and renewal) are processed.

Sure! As we continue to grow, our processing times will become faster and more streamlined, but as we continue to process all orders in house and by hand, please bear with us!

For new subscribers, all orders placed between the 1st-30th/31st 11:59 PM Pacific Time will start you with that next month’s box, as all subscriptions and renewals are processed on the 1st of each month for that month’s box.

For example, if you join Wags & Wine any time between May 1st – May 31st, your first box will be the June box, which will ship either the first or second Monday in June.

Any subscription orders placed starting on the 1st day of the month at 12:00 AM Pacific Time or later, will start you with the new following month’s box. For this same example, if you join Wags & Wine at 12:00 AM Pacific Time on June 1st or later, your first box will be the July box, which will ship the first or second Monday of July.

You can skip or pause any month you wish, as long as it is done at least 1 full business day prior to billing (billing occurs on the 1st). Automatic billing will occur on the 1st of the month.

Please use the “Skip” button under My Account to skip 1 month at a time.

    • We understand sometimes subscriptions need to be put on hold due to travel or just needing a break. This is where our 1 month Skip options come in! You may skip your membership for 1 month at a time, up to 4 times per year, and will be charged a $5 skip fee. Skipping is not meant to be a long term solution, so if you need a longer term option please consider Pausing or Canceling. After 1 month skip, your subscription automatically returns to active.

Please use the “Pause” button under My Account to put your subscription on hold, and resume at any time.

    • You can Pause your subscription for a minimum of 1 month or a maximum of 3 months up to two (2) times per year. During the Pause period, you will be charged a $5 monthly pause fee on the regular payment date (the 1st of each month). Once the Pause period ends, your subscription will revert to regular monthly billing.

If you are looking for your ‘Skip, ‘Pause’, or ‘Cancel’ buttons during your 3 month, 6 month or 12 month subscription, you will not see them. These buttons will be re-activated approximately 1 day after the last billing of your chosen subscription frequency.

If you wish to cancel before your next billing date, the cancellation request must be received by customer support at least 1 full business day prior to billing. If your billing date falls over a weekend or holiday, the cancellation request must be received before 12:00 pm PST (noon) on the previous business day. 

Please use the “Cancel” button under My Account, to cancel.

Your account will not be deleted. If you wish to re-subscribe, simply click “Re-Activate My Subscription” under My Account and you will need to re-purchase a subscription.

We recommend only using this option if you are certain you will not order again. Otherwise, please utilize the PAUSE button.

Please email us at info@wagsandwine.com with the subject line “CANCEL” if you have any issues canceling your subscription.

There are no cancellation fees associated with terminating your monthly subscription. The only fees associated with cancellations are for early cancellations.

If you wish to end a multi-month subscription early, an early cancellation fee will be charged.

    • 3 and 6 month subscriptions will incur an automatic $50 early cancellation fee should you click the ‘Cancel’ button before any 3 or 6 month subscription is complete and fulfilled (initial or renewal).
    • 12 month subscriptions will incur an automatic $100 early cancellation fee should you click the ‘Cancel’ button before any 12 month subscription is complete and fulfilled (initial or renewal).

We strive to make it clear across many pages of the website that subscriptions auto-renew if no action is taken, and renew on the 1st of every month. Please keep this in mind when subscribing.

Subscriptions must be canceled prior to the billing date or they will automatically will renew for another month.

Once your subscription renews and your order has been processed, we are unable to cancel the order, issue a refund for that order, or accept a returned box for a refund. 

Please do not sent any boxes back to Wags & Wine.

Plans & Pricing

We know options are important, so rather than having a one size fits all box, we are striving to provide a variety for all types of customers, at the best price possible.  Not all humans like the same wine, just as not all dogs like the same toys or treats. As we continue to grow, we will have the ability to provide more customizable options. 
 
We have created a “CLASSIC” boxes and “Premium” boxes, to satisfy different options and price points.

Our goal with Wags & Wine is to connect  wine loving dog owners with unique wines  and healthy dog products. We believe in sourcing products that you cannot find at your local wine shop, and products with high quality ingredients that are good for you as well as your dogs.  With this, that limits our ability to charge a lower price point. We realize that by doing this, our subscription box will not be for everyone, as our business model is not to provide the lowest price, OR value DEAL wines.  

For the Wags, our primary focus is sourcing healthy, limited ingredient, natural dog treats from under-the-radar dog treat companies. We want to support the underdog (pun intended) and smaller, or lesser known, businesses. In addition, dog TREATS AND toys made in the U.S.  with non-toxic, quality ingredients, is a SMALLER. This makes it much more challenging to source, and in turn, increases the cost to find such products, rather than outsourcing. 

For the wine, our primary focus is sourcing wines from small (or “boutique”)  vintners  that are hand-crafted, small-lot and family-owned. Many of which are unavailable anywhere else outside of the wineries that created them. To produce wines for the ‘extreme value’ category, a winery must have a very large commercial production. Due to the smaller production of these wines, our suppliers do not have the luxury of charging an aggressively lower price point like the large wine producers. Most bottles from these boutique wineries retail between $28-45 per bottle.

All of this increases production costs for our suppliers. We hope you understand our vision, and that we are doing everything we can to provide you the best possible price for unique, quality products.

Wags & Wine will feature a new winery every month, which will be the winery featured in all boxes, regardless of subscription.

Subscribers will be able to choose various combinations and price points of wine for their subscription.  At this time, subscribers are unable to choose varietals, but we hope to offer that in the future.

We feel that being surprised with great wine is half the fun!

If there is something you are absolutely opposed to receiving, please put it in the “extras” box upon checkout and we will do our best to accommodate. 

Sales Tax will be collected in states where we are required to by law.

Payments & Billing

At this time, all subscriptions have a billing date of the 1st of the month.

Visa, Mastercard, Discover and AmEx.

We are not accepting PayPal or Apple Pay at this time, but plan to do so in the future.

For 1 month and 3 month subscriptions your subscription will begin the day you sign up, but your first box will be charged on the following 1st of the month. For example, if you subscribe on May 15th, you will not be charged that day for the June box, your first charge will occur on June 1st. 

Your account will be charged on the 1st of each month moving forward.

All active subscriptions will be charged on the 1st of each month.

For each new 6 month and 12 month subscription, your account will be charged in full the day you sign up, and will renew each 1st of the month, billing only for shipping charges.

At this time, we cannot change the billing or shipping date. All subscriptions have a billing date of the 1st of the month, and all orders will be shipped either the first or second Monday of the month, depending on when we receive the goods and get the boxes packed.

Delivery & Shipping

The regulatory environment for shipping alcohol to consumers nationwide is an extremely complex and ever changing landscape. The rules around where we can and can’t ship are changing constantly along with the shipping rates. The list of states in our drop down menu at checkout  IS NOT NECESSARILY REPRESENTATIVE  of where we can legally ship.

Please submit your order and our processing team will check it for compliance. If there are any issues with your order we will contact you. To find the current shipping rate, simply add a product to your shopping cart, click on checkout, fill in the ship to state on the checkout page and our shipping calculator will show the available services and rates to that state. Wags & Wine reserves the right to change the flat rate shipping charges at any time.

Many states restrict the shipment of wine. Please accept our apologies if we are unable to ship to your area. We are unable to ship wine to  HI, ND, SD NH, UT, MS, AL, VT, KY, or any address outside of the United States.

Wine laws are everchanging, so new states may be added, or removed based on changes in laws.

after extensive research, looking at all of our shipping options, and what other wine clubs and monthly wine subscriptions charge for shipping (even those that are priced much higher than us), it is not feasible at this time. We know paying for shipping sucks, but wine is heavy, and costs much more to ship than your average box.  While we could have hidden the cost of shipping in the price of the box, like many companies do with their products, and offer free shipping – we didn’t think the value of the box was accurately portrayed.

We are doing our best to get shipping costs down, so please bear with us while we navigate this. We hope to offer free shipping as we continue to grow!

Depending on your location, we offer $10 and $15 UPS ground flat rate shipping, and 25% off 2 day and 3 day.

Additionally, by law, wine must be purchased,  and signed for at the time of delivery, by a person at least 21 years of age.

We apologize, but until local shipping laws change we cannot ship to all states. Each state has laws that govern the shipment and taxation of wine to its wholesalers, retailers and consumers, as well as an alcoholic beverage control organization to enforce those laws.  

Most states allow wineries to ship wine directly to their adult residents, as long as the winery obtains a license from the state and regularly remits sales/excise taxes to the state.  In some states, direct wine shipping is legal, but the fees are prohibitively expensive for many small wineries.  In other states, a winery might be disqualified on the basis of its size or some other technicality. A few states prohibit direct wine shipment entirely.

Your box will ship around the first or second Monday of the month.  For example, for the May box, your subscription will automatically renew on May 1st. Your May box will ship either the first or second Monday in May.

The time between the 1st of the month renewal date, and the estimated shipping date, is to give us enough time to place our product orders with our wonderful suppliers and create your boxes! AT THIS TIME, WE ARE FULFILLING ALL ORDERS BY HAND, so please be patient with us.

WE WILL BE FEATURING A NEW WINERY AND DOG COMPANY EACH MONTH, SO WE ARE UNABLE TO PRE-ORDER THE PRODUCTS IN BULK, AS THESE PRODUCTS WILL NOT BE UTILIZED IN A FUTURE MONTH BOX AT THIS TIME. HAVING ANY EXCESS INVENTORY WILL GO UNUSED. 

A tracking number will be emailed to the email address we have on file once your box is shipped. 

If you cannot locate your tracking number, please reach out to us.

Wine requires a 21 and up signature upon delivery.

With UPS, there will be 3 delivery attempts (once each day for 3 consecutive days). They typically leave a slip of paper at your door saying that they attempted to deliver.  These notices generally have a phone number to call and/or the address of their local depot.  In most cases, you can arrange to pick the package up there. 

If the customer still does not sign after 3 delivery attempts, the shipment will be held at their local center for 5 days before being returned to Wags & Wine. If that happens, we’re sorry but we’ll need to charge you to ship it again.

At this time, we are only shipping the boxes once per month, either the first or second Monday. We hope to be able to offer chosen shipping dates in the future.

If you know you will be unavailable to sign for your package or unable to ship it elsewhere, during the last week of the month, please contact us with your order number and we will do our best to accommodate.

In order for Wags & Wine to continue providing our customers with services such as shipping, we must include certain stipulations & articles of agreement. The following conditions relate to the shipping of goods by Wags & Wine. By requesting shipment of any merchandise the consignee agrees to all of the following conditions:

Title to, and ownership of, all wine passes from Wags & Wine to the purchaser in the State of California and the purchaser takes all responsibility for the shipping of it from California to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the wine via common carrier, Wags & Wine is providing a service to, and acting on behalf of the purchaser. You will be billed for this service. California sales tax will be added to your purchase because of this. By utilizing this service from Wags & Wine, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of wine and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age. 

Wags & Wine is not liable for any damages to goods caused by weather conditions and other “Acts of God” during transportation. Because weather conditions can change drastically at any time, we also assume no liability for damage caused by changes in weather during transportation. “Acts of God” include catastrophes such as, but not limited to: plane crashes, unforeseeable delays or accidents, destruction due to domestic and international unrest (i.e. riots, war, public enemies) confiscation, quarantine or natural disaster. The experienced staff of the shipping department at Wags & Wine takes every precaution to insure safe transit of goods requested by our customers.

Promotions & Coupons

Gift subscriptions work very similarly to regular subscriptions.

From our Gift page, choose whether you would like to gift a Premium or Classic Box. Next choose the subscription length.

All gift subscriptions require payment in full upon purchase. 

Coupon codes are not eligible on gift subscriptions, unless advertised.

In order to not impose recurring charges to a gift sender, all shipping charges will be billed at the time of the subscription purchase.

For example, if a 3 month subscription if gifted to a shipping address in California, a total of $30 ($10 for 3 months) in shipping fees will be added at checkout.

If a 6 month subscription is gifted to a shipping address in Florida, a total of $90 ($15 for 6 months) in shipping fees will be added at checkout.

This way, the gift giver will have no obligation of recurring charges after purchasing the gift subscription.

Yes and no. Certain items will not be visible to the gift receiver, such as Change Payment Method, View Parent Order or Re-subscribe.

When some purchases a subscription box for someone else,  the subscription is then shared between the purchaser and recipient giving them both the ability to manage the subscription for the rest of its life cycle. That means less headaches if something needs to change on the subscription.

Purchasers will enter the gift recipient’s email address on the product, cart, or checkout page. The extension will take care of the rest, including on-boarding the recipient with your store, as well as managing shared control over the subscriptions, and access to orders related to it.

After a subscription box is purchased, the gift recipient will be set up on the website with the email address the purchaser entered for the recipient.

An account is automatically created with the gift recipient’s email. The recipient is emailed to notify them of the gift and instruct them to login to our website. Upon login, recipients are asked to set account details, including the shipping address for the subscription, if one has not been set. 

Both the recipient and purchaser of a gifted subscription are able to suspend or cancel the subscription, view details of the subscription and its renewal orders via their My Account page, or change the shipping address. 

All subscription box gifts will end after the purchased subscription length has ended.

If you would like to continue receiving Wags & Wine boxes, please subscribe on the website, while logged into your account, as if you are purchasing a new subscription.
